Marching Forward: A Month of Progress
March was a big month for WalkBike Frankfort—full of milestones, community connections, and exciting steps toward making our city more walkable, bikeable, and livable for everyone. Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve been up to!
Spring Members Meeting: Sharing Our Vision
Ally Hall presents at WalkBike Frankfort’s Spring Members Meeting.
On March 20th, we gathered at the Paul Sawyier Public Library for our Spring Members Meeting, and it was energizing to see so many familiar faces—along with plenty of new ones! We shared updates on our ongoing projects, discussed upcoming initiatives, and most importantly, listened to your ideas about how we can make Frankfort an even better place to walk and bike.

Brent Sweger talks about the projects WalkBike has been a part of recently.
A few highlights from the meeting:
Advocacy Wins: Updates on recent progress with city and county leaders to improve infrastructure.
Upcoming Projects: Sneak peeks at what’s coming up next as we gear up for the Frankfort Triple Crown, WalkBike and Roll to School, and a downtown scavenger hunt!
Community Input: Your feedback helps shape our priorities—keep those ideas coming!
If you missed the meeting, don’t worry! We’ll be sharing key takeaways and next steps soon. And if you’re not yet a member, join us to help shape the future of active transportation in Frankfort!
Ribbon Cutting: Kings Center Bike Shed is Open!
Judge Executive Michael Mueller and Deneen Petty cut the ribbon for the Bike Shed
On March 26th, we celebrated a major milestone—the official opening of the Kings Center Bike Shed! This project, made possible through partnerships and community support, provides a safe, secure place for bike parking and promotes cycling as a reliable way to get around.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this to life—from our partners during Carbload for a Cause (Judge Executive Michael Mueller and Andrea Wilson-Mueller, Kenvirons, Pedigree Productions, and Inside Out Landscape Design), to the volunteers and donors who made it happen. This is just one step in our mission to make biking more accessible for all Frankfort residents, and we can’t wait to see how it benefits the neighborhood.
What’s Next?
With spring in full swing, we’re gearing up for more events, advocacy wins, and opportunities to get involved. Here’s how you can help:
Join us as a member or volunteer.
Spread the word—talk to friends and neighbors about the importance of walkable, bikeable communities.
Stay tuned for upcoming rides, advocacy updates, and more!
March showed us how much we can accomplish when our community comes together. Let’s keep the momentum going—see you out there!

Carbload For a Cause
(From left) Andrea Wilson-Mueller and Judge-Executive Michael Mueller speak with Diane Strong at Carbload For a Cause November 22, 2024 at Sig Luscher.
Back in November we hosted our first annual Carbload For a Cause spaghetti dinner, and 0.5K fun run. We were so excited to come together as a community, and we raised money to build a bike shed for the King Center. Because of the generosity of the people of Frankfort we were able to raise over $3,800. These funds allowed us to immediately get the ball rolling to make the bike shed at the King Center a reality.
We’d like to once again thank our sponsors— Judge Executive Michael Mueller and Andrea Wilson-Mueller, Kenvirons, Pedigree Productions, and Inside Out Landscape Design— without whom, none of this would be possible.
We are so excited to announce the bike shed project is in the final stages. As we near completion we hope you will join us in the Spring (date TBD) for a ribbon cutting. Stay tuned for more information
